THE TURVO UNIT

Responsible for manufacturing Folding boxboard paper. The plant has installed capacity for 108,000 tons/year, making Ibema Brazil’s 3rd largest manufacturer. The location of the plant, in the city of Turvo, central region of the state of Paraná, was a strategy-driven choice.

The relief, climate and soil enable the appropriate use of water resources and raw materials. Its privileged position puts it, at the same time, close to the state capital, to the main port in south Brazil as well as to road and rail junctions leading to the entire Mercosul. The world class standards achieved by ongoing product enhancement and by standardization ensure placement for the production throughout the entire national territory and other countries in the Americas, Europe, African and Asia. Located amid a 627-hectare property, with self-generation of energy, the Turvo unit’s daily output capacity is of 300 tons. The plant uses eucalyptus pulp and high yield Pinus paste as main raw materials in its product composition.

The unique physical bulk and stiffness characteristics were achieved through the aggregate knowledge accumulated by Ibema in manufacturing its own mechanical paste (SGW). The boxboard paper manufactured by IBEMA is used in packaging in the segments of pharmaceutics, cosmetics, perfumery, personal hygiene, cleaning products, footwear, garments, food, automotive, toys, couplings and so many others. .
